BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!

My first few drawings back in 2010. And yes I know, my drawing skills are earth-shatteringly bad at best during that time HAHAHA. As cliche as it may sound, practice really makes perfect and on the face of it, it seems to make perfect sense. (Click on photo to view a larger version)

More of my drawings/paintings here + my first time-lapse painting video here!

Lately I’ve been getting a few questions about my paintings and others were requesting me to post a video. Well honestly, I’ve been really wanting to do this for a long time now and thank God, I finally had the time. So here it is! My first ever time-lapse painting video! Hope you’ll enjoy watching this :D

UNDERCUT

I feel some kind of bliss whenever I cut my hair. I am not sure if this is normal but I like to let go of those unwanted thoughts and emotions by cutting a part of my hair or maybe dye it or get my ears pierced. Um…so tell me, is this really normal? Am I normal?

BORACAY APRIL 2013

image

The long wait is over! After 20 years, I finally made it to the tropical paradise of Boracay Island. Woot woot! I was born and raised in Manila, and I admit that I’ve never been to that much places in the Philippines. The farthest place I’ve gone to in the north is Baguio and in the south is Aklan (more of my travel post here!). It was such an adventure traveling for almost 15 hours! (Kinabog yung 10 hours na biyahe ko papuntang Dubai eh though I know it’s a plane ride but still…HAHA). Yes, it was a very long and tiring bus and ferry ride but it is all worth it once you step on the powder white sand beach and see the crystal clear turquoise water of Boracay. Uhhh…prolly the best beach vacation to date!

So let me share a little story about how Boracay got its name which I learned from my cousin (aka the best tour guide ever!) who actually lives in Malay, Aklan. He told me that long time ago, there’s a german family who lived in the island. They have a child named “Cay” who can’t say a word until one day, she saw bubbles on the seashore and she uttered “Bora” which is an old local word meaning bubbles. This is her first word ever, so to give appreciation to the family, the local settlers decided to name the island, “Boracay”.

How cool is that? I mean, I know that there are several versions exists about the origin of the name Boracay but I like this story a lot. Plus I googled about it but I haven’t seen any stories similar to the one I mentioned above. So that means, sakin nyo unang nalaman ‘to. Chos! HAHAHA.

CUBAY SUR + NABAOY RIVER (MALAY, AKLAN)

image

This is a perfect place to relax and forget the stress of every day life. If you enjoy simple life and the lightness of being then this is really your destination. Welcome to Cubay Sur! :D

I have never received such a warm welcome. Strangers in the street will smile at you and start grinning ‘good morning’! Lots of fun, water, sun, good food and smiles all around. I will definitely go back for sure.

Another place that I’ve been to that I’m sure not all filipinos are aware of. I know that quite a lot of people didn’t know that Boracay is part of the municipality of Malay, Aklan. Tourist just usually go to Aklan to whisked away to the famous white sand beach of Boracay. But little do they know that there is a hidden river (which is actually 20-30 mins away from Caticlan Jetty Port) with a transparent emerald green water. Say hello to Nabaoy River!

Nabaoy is a beautiful river in the middle of a lush tropical jungle. The water is very cool and refreshing, and it’s such a nice change from the oceans salt water. So if you guys happened to be in Boracay, why not take a day trip to this river and enjoy a peaceful relaxing day.

Goofing around and just being my crazy normal self.

What I’m Wearing?

Dress from Primadonna, Boots and Sunglasses from SM dept. store, Tote bag from Kultura

Yellow screams summer fever! Pairing this cute a-line dress with boots is a no-brainer to celebrate what felt like the first real day of dry season. Nothing like a bum outfit on a hot and extremely humid thursday. So yeah, just a quick post for I must jet now to get my painting (a simple birthday gift for my friend) done right away. Happy weekends!

PS: Got tanned skin! Can’t wait to get my natural skin color back.
