PhFW HOLIDAY 2013: JAG PRESENTS NINA GARCIA

This year’s PH Fashion Week is by far the most enjoyable experience for me. First because I finally saw Marie Claire creative director and Project Runway judge, Nina Garcia! I’m a big fan of Project Runway and the idea of seeing her in real life honestly never crossed my mind. So I want to applaud JAG Jeans for bringing her here in Manila. The interview was wonderful! Boy Abunda manage to put everyone at ease and it is less an ‘interview’ and more like two friends just having a conversation. Nina is so grounded and passionate that is almost inspiring and refreshing. And she just came across as so humble, honest, and nice! 

The second reason is because I got approached by STATUS Magazine and a pretty redhead girl for an outfit photo. Never really thought they’ll notice me ‘cause I think I’m slightly underdressed haha. (super level up ngayon kasi last year southsartorial.com lang nag approach sakin, this year dalawa na & STATUS pa! hahahah)

See that redhead girl? She’s the one who approached me (such a sneaky shot, i know -_- haha). She’s so pretty and effortlessly chic. Saw her sitting in the front row near Nina Garcia and it can only mean one thing, she’s a VIP! Hmm…I wonder who she is.

I’ll be one of those photographers. Soon. But probably long time from now or maybe never.

I’m going to be perfectly honest here and say it’s no easy feat to attend a fashion show, snap photos, meet the usual stylish and fashionable crowd. But still, my aunt and I had a really good time, a little tired though. We actually waited for a bit longer than we anticipated, but it was well worth it :) More PhFW blog post here!!!

PhFW HOLIDAY 2013: JAG ORIGINS

This year I had the great opportunity to attend the JAG Origins show. What you see here is basically a composite of the JAG’s full Holiday 2013 retail collection. The show presented Ankle Cut Jeans collection for women and Stretch Denim collection for men. 

Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up, Janine Tugonon and the rest of the Binibining Pilipinas opened the show.

Then the label presented a special collection from the three world-class Filipino designers that highlights the distinct Filipino artistry.

PhFW S/S13: L’OREAL PARIS PRESENTS EZRA SANTOS

Now, here’s the part two of my PFW S/S13 experience. I call Ezra Santos’ collection the “eye-popping-dazzling-gold-metallic-with-swarovski-crystals”. HAHAHA! In short, it’s way too awesome!!! The collection had that romantic comedy movie vibe because there was a part in the show that the music stopped and monologues from a movie started to play while the models were strutting the runway. I really love his collection especially the extraordinary details of each clothes. And of course, the colors that he used. Who would’ve hated the colors gold, black and white? Ezra Santos’ finale was superb. It was perfect. Anyhow, I want to make this post short, so I’ll just leave you with these bearable photos. Enjoy!

PhFW S/S13: L’OREAL PARIS PRESENTS ALBERT ANDRADA

Once again, it’s the most wonderful time of the year for fantastically fashionable creatures. It’s my third time now to attend PFW but I still got that overwhelming feeling being surrounded by a huge amount of style. Philippine Fashion Week Day 1 ended on a high last tuesday night beacuse of the two Dubai-based successful filipino fashion designers, Albert Andrada and Ezra Santos. But for now, let me share with you the pastel summer collection of Albert Andrada which I find really beautiful and finely crafted. Lace, flowing satin skirt, pastel, bow, faux pearl beads plus the coolest ear cuffs ever!!!

My apologies to the not-so-good quality photos. We arrived 20 minutes before the show, lines are already forming and the excitement is palpable. So we ended up sitting at the back, add it up to my stupidity for forgetting to change the white balance setting of my camera from daylight to auto. So that’s the explanation for the photos you are about to see. Enjoy!

PhFW HOLIDAY 2012: MICHAEL CINCO FOR BENCH

I am so lucky to be able to witness such a magical moment for the 2nd time and with VIP passes pa. Thanks to my wonderful friend, Mhaj who happens to be related to Michael Cinco. I will say it again for the nth time, Michael Cinco’s show was phenomenal! I don’t know how he do all these impeccable designs but I do know one thing though, he himself is an incredible piece of art.

If you read my PFW S/S12: Michael Cinco post last year then you already know that I am a huge fan of ANTM. And Allison Harvard is my bet for ANTM: All-Stars cycle 17 but she ended up as a runner-up. I don’t care though, Allison is and will always be my all star :)

Super fangirl moment talaga ko that night! I seriously couldn’t contain myself when I saw her walking on the runway. Like I want to shout “I love you, Allison!!!” so bad and super kilig talaga ko LOL. There was one moment when she walked towards us then stop and pose. Like oh my goodness!!! she was 1 meter away from me and good Lord, her eyes! So breathtaking! Umm.., ok! I know I sound so creepy now hahaha. So maybe, I’ll just let the photos do the talking.

And as usual, the male models were wearing nothing but those white briefs. LMAO

PhFW HOLIDAY 2012: RAJO LAUREL FOR BENCH

“Rajo Uno! Rajo Dos!” uhhh, still can’t get over it. It was like a party rather than a fashion show haha. The whole room was dancing the Rajo Dance! Such an awesome night! Felt like I was in a club surrounded by well-dressed creatures.

Aicha: Tama ba ‘tong napuntahan natin?

Me: Feeling ko nasa ASAP tayo. HAHAHA

PhFW HOLIDAY 2012: HAPPY ANDRADA

An elemental ghostly chill haunts Happy Andrada’s “Apparition” collection. She derives her sepulchral white drama from her dark dreams and ethereal encounters with souls and spirits weaving in and out of her reality, blurring lines between lace, organza, cotton and tulle. There is a certain icy sweetness to her collection’s tainted purity. The sacrificial virgin, the scorned lover, the wandering muse, the mourning mother - all form mystifying silhouettes brought by intricate cuts, dyes, appliques braiding and looping. (got this from Happy Andrada’s promotional leaflet)

Need I say more? Happy’s designs were the best out of all the collection under the Visions & Trends segment of the fashion week that’s why I made a separate blog post just for it. I think she should have a solo show ‘cause her designs were really amazing and unique. O well, hopefully next time :)

PhFW HOLIDAY 2012: VISIONS & TRENDS

Five designers showcased their collection in the Visions & Trends segment of the PFW but I’m going to post only four collection because I want to make a special post for Happy Andrada’s super awesome “Apparition Collection”.
